While studying at NFC, I have had the privilege of assisting at some incredible opportunities. However, none compare to working alongside the Miguel Urbina Tan for the highly anticipated Nicol & Ford AAFW 2023 runway show. As an aspiring stylist, this was a dream come true, and I owe it all to the invaluable support and resources provided by NFC.
Working alongside someone as well-renowned and talented as Miguel was an absolute honor. His amazing eye, creative genius and effortless styling transformed the stunning demi-couture garments into breathtaking masterpieces. Miguel's keen eye for detail and his ability to effortlessly fuse different elements of fashion resulted in ensembles that left everyone in awe. Witnessing him work his magic was an enlightening experience that I truly feel has expanded my horizons as a stylist and opened my eyes to all the possibilities I could have as a stylist in the future. Beyond his exceptional talent, Miguel's ability to build strong connections with models, assistants, and designers was truly inspiring. His genuine kindness and consideration towards everyone involved in the show created an atmosphere of camaraderie and collaboration. Witnessing the bond he forged with each individual was a testament to his remarkable character and professionalism. Working in such a positive environment enhanced my own creativity and reaffirmed the power of fostering meaningful relationships within the industry.
The energy surrounding the Nicol & Ford runway show was electrifying, and I felt like I was a part of something monumental. The countless hours of hard work and dedication became tangible as the models gracefully glided and performed down the runway, donning the extraordinary garments we had meticulously styled. The Nicol & Ford team is beyond anything I experienced during my entire week assisting at AAFW.
