BACKSTAGE AT SHONA JOY

My time at NFC has been a whirlwind of beautiful fashion experiences in such an incredibly short space of time, and one of my most recent experiences assisting at the Shona Joy Fashion Show was right up there.
My day began with the exciting task of assisting the models backstage, but not before they provided us all with a free breakfast (winning!). The energy backstage was palpable as makeup artists, hairstylists, and designers worked tirelessly to ensure that every detail was perfect.
The SHONA JOY collection was a mesmerizing display of creativity and elegance (I wanted to “add to cart” 80% of the items on that runway). Luckily for us, all of the backstage crew got a FREE Shona Joy T-Shirt- which I am currently wearing as I write this blog (100% truth).
One of the highlights of the day was catching a glimpse of the brilliant mind behind it all—Shona Joy herself. Her presence was awe-inspiring, and I couldn't help but feel a surge of admiration for her accomplishments and hope that one day I might be where she is. Nevertheless, seeing her in person was a surreal moment that added to the magic of the day.
My day at the SHONA JOY Fashion Runway was just FABULOUS- but how could it not be: backstage privy, watching the most beautiful runway show, fully catered breakfast and lunch, and a FREE Shona Joy T-Shirt… and I got to do it with the best bunch of girls anyone could meet at college! This experience has left an indelible mark on my journey as a fashion student, and I can't wait to see where it takes me on my own fashion journey.
Amongst the craziness of it all, I made sure to take in a moment to appreciate all the intricate work that goes into bringing a fashion show to life.
Once the models were ready, it was time to make our way to the runway. As I stepped out into the event space, I was immediately struck by the jaw-dropping view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House in the background. But it wasn’t until I saw the models walking against these iconic landmarks that my breath was truly taken away. I have never seen a more picturesque runway!
