LANDING EMPLOYMENT IN THE INDUSTRY

Embarking on a career in the fashion industry had always been a dream of mine, but I didn’t know how to get started. After completing my degrees I knew I needed connections to get into the fashion industry and that’s where it all started at NFC. Little did I know that 9 months into my studies with NFC I would land my dream first job as a Buying Admin Assistant (BAA) with SABA. 

At NFC I was immediately immersed into a world of creativity, innovation and experience. Through the colleges support, I was able to learn valuable skills and expertise that are required to thrive within the ever-changing and fast-paced fashion industry. The opportunity to collaborate with like-minded, fashion-focused peers quickly turned into friendships and practical experience at events proved to be invaluable networking opportunities. 

In my opinion, the internship program with NFC has been a highlight. Working closely with Bryce I was provided with incredible opportunities to work with leaders of the industry, gaining valuable experience and absorbing as much as I could. When the opportunity to join the team at SABA as their BAA arose, I was initially hesitant, unsure whether I was ready for a full-time position, yet with Bryce’s encouragement I applied. Throughout the interview process, I applied what I had learnt from my time at NFC, showcasing my knowledge, whilst reiterating my eagerness to learn and support the continued growth of the brand. When I got the call that I got the job I was overcome with joy and excitement and couldn’t believe that I was about to start working full-time in the fashion industry. 

NFC laid the foundations for my fashion career, providing the industry connections and educational background to shape me into a versatile fashion professional. As I finalise my studies, I couldn’t be more grateful for the people and experience that NFC has brought into my life and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
